Under Stairs Wine Room

Temperature and Humidity in Tight Spaces

Most above ground wine storage areas must be well insulated for both consistent temperature and humidity. Our licensed refrigeration specialists will properly size a cooling system for your situation. Constant temperature is the primary concern for wine storage. Higher temperatures age wine more quickly, so temperature variations in a poorly controlled space can result in prematurely aged wines. Proper humidity is a major consideration. If too low, corks dry out. If too high, labels may be damaged or mold, mildew, and condensation may occur. Humidity must be controlled between 50% to 70%.
