Wine Room Temperature and Humidity

Temperature and Humidity

Above ground wine rooms must be well insulated for both consistent temperature and humidity. Many wine rooms require a split cooling systems. Our licensed refrigeration specialists will properly size a cooling system for your situation.

Constant temperature is the primary concern for wine storage. Higher temperatures age wine more quickly, so temperature variations in a poorly controlled room can result in prematurely aged wines.

Proper humidity is a major consideration. If too low, corks dry out. If too high, labels may be damaged or mold, mildew, and condensation may occur. Humidity must be controlled between 50% to 70%.
